New Hampshire OBD & Safety Testing Program

As of October 1, 2007, all automobiles and light-duty trucks with model years 20-years-old and newer must pass an OBD test during its inspection period. In the years since then, stations and motorists have become accustomed to the OBD testing procedure.

We appreciate all of the efforts made by inspection stations and mechanics as well as the input we have received to improve many aspects of the program.

Information on the inspection program is periodically added to this website and in email messages that are sent directly to the NHOST units. Most often this information will be available for printing. Additionally, it may be helpful for stations to guide motorists to the following NHOST website to provide them with information specific to vehicle owners: www.nhinspect.com
